GASKETED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER - NX350M SERIES
Suitable for heating and cooling in a wide range of applications, the NX Series is available with a wide selection of plate sizes and many different plate and gasket materials – including titanium and stainless steel.
Application examples include:
Data Center Cooling,Utility Cooling (with seawater and high volume flow rates), and Steelworks, Power Stations, District Cooling & Heating Stations. Gasketed plate heat exchangers for these applications require peak performance in terms of heat transfer whilst withstanding high system pressure.
The more powerful Data Centers become, the more energy and cost intensive they become. Technical solutions such as mobile Internet, cloud computing and Internet TV, for example, demand ever higher performance as data volumes also increase.
Data centers are therefore among the largest energy consumers. Experts believe that around 35 to 50 percent, or virtually half of the energy required, must be used for cooling alone. This means that there is enormous potential for energy savings, especially in cooling technology. Several approaches are available for calculating the efficiency of the energy used. One of the most common metrics is the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) value.
That particular PUE value can be reduced substantially by using the energy efficient NX350M. An efficient Plate Heat Exchanger such as the NX350M allows for a small LMTD value and therefore contributes in keeping the PUE value low. Thanks to an extremely shallow plate gap, a highly turbulent flow and in turn a good heat transfer at very small temperature differences can be assured.
The PUE value determines the ratio between the electrical energy consumed in total (total energy consumption) and the electrical energy consumed with regard to the IT infrastructure (servers, storage, switches and more). In other words, the PUE value is used to determine the efficiency of the energy input within a specific period.
