PACKAGED RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR SYSTEMS

Plug & play reciprocating compressor packages for cooling and heating. GEA reciprocating units are widely recognized for their simple, straightforward installation. Their features include efficient oil separators, low-maintenance V-belts or direct-coupling drivelines, and state-of-the-art electronic systems for general control.

Most compressors produced at GEA are turned into compact packaged units before they leave the factory. The range of components to fit on and around the compressors is extensive, and the fact that all required components are factory-fitted and proven technology gives the contractor the advantage to concentrate 100% on the erection of the refrigeration plant.

Common to all packages is that they are based on GEA’s reciprocating technology, which focuses not only on saving you energy and maintenance costs, but also on reducing your carbon footprint by using a natural refrigerant such as ammonia.

The reciprocating packages can be divided into single and/or two stage operation. Direct drive or V belt drive arrangements are available for V series based cooling compressors. The GEA Grasso 5HP, V HS, V HP and V XHP series are optimized for direct drive only. The optional use of frequency-controlled inverters in combination with maintenance-free couplings gives the customer the opportunity to positively influence energy and maintenance costs.

The extremely low oil carry-over, related to the design of the compressor particularly on cooling applications, can be even less than 10 ppm and gives the customer the opportunity to execute a compressor package with or without an oil separator, depending on the system demands. The use of GEA’s high-efficiency oil separator will further reduce the carryover to an absolute minimum, and oil contamination through to the installation.

GEA Grasso V series and GEA FES VX series packages

The GEA Grasso V series and GEA FES VX series packages are based on the 2nd generation V series compressor, with a focus on maximum efficiency, reliability, and minimal maintenance, ensuring you the lowest operating costs. The single-stage and two-stage reciprocating compressor packages of the GEA Grasso V series and GEA FES VX series are available in several sizes, both in V-belt and direct drive configurations. They cover a wide capacity range suitable for applications from approximately -55°C to +20°C (-67°F to +68°F).

GEA Grasso V HS series package

The GEA Grasso V HS package is based on the high-speed reciprocating compressor. This package offers a higher refrigeration capacity with a lower investment. Because of the proportional correlation of compressor speed, swept volume and resulting capacity, up to 25 % more capacity can now be gained using the same models.

GEA Grasso V XHP series package

The GEA Grasso V XHP compressors, which use ammonia, are designed for combining the highest efficiency to reduce maximum the carbon emission. With the ability to reach water temperatures of up to 95°C / 203°F and offering best-in-class efficiency, they are an ideal choice for heat pump systems.

GEA Grasso V HP series package

The GEA Grasso V HP series package introduces ammonia reciprocating compressors with a maximum design pressure of 39 bar. This makes these models the first choice for all hot water applications up to 70°C / 158°F to meet most industrial requirements in the food industry and elsewhere, especially for cleaning and processing.

GEA Grasso 5HP series packages

The GEA Grasso 5HP package includes four sizes suitable for both refrigeration and heat pump applications, combining a compact design with proven technology to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
