A top 10 personal care manufacturer of creams and lotions presented GEA with the challenge of meeting the company’s strategic objectives: to deliver a mixed portfolio of preservative-free finished products and reduce product losses to less than 1%.
Various design challenges had to be overcome, including the development of a flexible manufacturing line, the integration of clean-in-place (CIP) and chemical cleaning procedures, and the application of best practice hygienic design to implement new product recovery techniques.
As a result of the collaboration, the customer is now recognised as a pioneer in the production of preservative-free products. And, with GEA equipment and solutions in place, the company boasts a multipurpose manufacturing operation offering more than 70 product groups. In addition, as specified, product losses are less than 1%.
