Looking to scale-up a new toothpaste manufacturing technology, a top 10 personal care producer of oral care products tasked GEA with fulfilling the strategic objective of introducing a continuous processing solution.

Key factors in the project included scaling up the operation from R&D to commercial production and incorporating hygienic design and clean-in-place (CIP) systems to minimize cleaning frequency and plant downtime.

By implementing GEA technology and know-how, the successful transition from batch processing to continuous manufacturing has increased output by a factor of 4. In addition, both cleaning frequency and downtime targets have been achieved.
